Sirocco (Heavy Wish)
Cool summer it was nothing that you said we laid side by side
the borders we crossed so many times are becoming lost
I'l keep on climbing this ladder
guided by fate driven by hope.
hit me like a...
Sirocco, wind is kicking keep on climbing this ladder it's in my heart it's in my head lose control and fall climb it again
I'm staring at the ceiling playing on my frets
i'm searching for accord i kiss your smile and you reel me back in.
Sirocco wind is kicking the wish is so heavy keep on climbing this ladder.

The Diver
The diver stops to reconcile
the rifts inside that stretch a mile
insular waves that crash beneath
the cliffs that cause us to seize
In this waiting room an island out of tune
I broke the surface and dove down deep it nearly caused me to drown
But on the bottom I cultivated a string of pearls- can't pry these feelings
The diver is on the cliff
no he won't jump in
waiting to begin
you've got let love through
Sometimes I hear his eclipsing tears falling like the summer rain
coming down and short out the line
watch it blow
watch the white light flow.

Webs without Maps
She took apart the things she loved just to see what made them all tick
now she's looking for a vehicle a solvent bond to put all the pieces back
don't you know we see the wreck digging holes time cannot fill?
In her days will she find glory?
The resistor's running red
all the circuits all but bled
living through the hallowed lines
of sampled rhymes do you care?
You don't see it now but distant lies spinning webs without maps.

Marblehead
Drove down 114 today adjust the mirrors and watch the bridges burn
outside a Salem mass
haunted by the hours i fell asleep
in the arms of my expectations my hesitations
Stalling in the moment choking in the sunlight.
Looking for a better day, a finer time than this.
The streams that use to carry me away are dried and set in stone
but they'l come back again next summertime
put the car in park scaring up the crow and raise the jack
people in rows houses in rows masts in rows
Setting all their courses.
Harbor thoughts that never set sail looking for a better day, a finer time than this.
Harbor thoughts that want to set sail.

Life Construction
Eye in the camera flicker forward
keep in sight with the rhyme
sent my head spinning to a different time
out of focus frame of mind
pulls of a magnet pushing you by
winding away and catching the tide
in the shadows of my mind.
Triggers wind away
yet I find away
to construct a life
viewing this day
Eye in the camera moving left to right
never touching the ground
stirring stills in the shadow of my mind.
Man with a camera his eyes are a shudder
magnets pulling you by you walked into the frame.
Triggers wind away.

Crooked Sky
Stepping out of this limousine
turned my collar up searching for your warmth
under a crooked sky
Icy winds arthritic trees creak winds creak
howling out stealing all the memories we had kept
I feel strange under a crooked sky
Suffocated by the spade that pitched the dirt
lost in the ether blown away
your undying ways
I feel change under a crooked sky.
Strange, I feel change under a crooked sky.

One a day
It's late in the evening the smoke circles my head
the clouds that are formed are speaking in tongues
poisons make their way through my system wait to release
a sheltering sky opens wide and says...
take it one a day.

Creature of Habit
There's no language in his lungs to speak of
mouth to mouth resuscitate
probe him with mechanical arms
is he alive or does he care?
Won't go under the knife - still breathing
Don't put him under the scope - there's a chance he might arrive
It's good enough for him hope it's good enough for you
The battery lasted hours
the salt upon his wounds that will not heal with sutured science
a self prescribed anomaly
There's no shiver in his bones
in his cell there is no tone
pick up if you are there
creature of habit.
